Wissanu urges more discussion on election strategy
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said yesterday he agreed that every vote should be counted and not go in vain, but more discussion was needed about the details of transforming this idea into action in an election.

The Deputy PM suggested that the CDC discuss further with concerned parties the pros and cons to come up with the most suitable system for Thai society. He said there was no need to withstand flaws in an election.

Wissanu said the government of Kukrit Pramoj over 30 years ago had shown the qualities of the proportional share in an election inspired by Germany's electoral system since, and it has developed into various sub types, including the proposed apportionment, which may not be found anywhere else.

Wissanu dismissed suggestions the proposed system may not respond to people's intent in an election, saying it's alright if people disagreed with it.
