If she hardly speaks English, she's new to the bar trade. Could have been a navy nurse, sure - why not ask your friend why she left the service after serving for 9 years. Hardly a career move, I would have thought. Not only that, but why choose a bar job?

Possibly, she wants some fun in her life before she settles down, and her looks fade, and her financial aim (currently) is to score with a farang for 30k monthly. I would advise your friend to tread carefully and slowly to ascertain what she wants out of life, now - and whether that's his spec. Hers could very well be, playing single, partying, and trying out different relationships.

Trouble is, once hooked into bar life - well you know the rest...

At this stage all we know is that she left the Navy because she was sick and tired of nursing. If this is true or not we'll probably never know.

Perhaps, at age 31 and single, she feels the biological clock is ticking...

Sorry , i wasnt winding you up ,its just an observation i would make tropo

np. It's just that his lady is the polar opposite of masculine.

The question is, does this suggest your theory is flawed, or that she never worked in the Navy?

Thank you!

As expected, this thread has attracted a fairly large number of trolls intent on derailing it by making snide, sarcastic or insulting remarks. They will be reported, so please don't waste your time.

My friend and I weren't born yesterday and have a combined 25 years' experience in Pattaya and fully understand the pitfalls of dating bargirls. We are specifically interested in answers to the questions asked in my original post.

The fact that my friend is considering a more serious relationship with this particular girl speaks volumes considering his level of experience. It should seem obvious that this girl must be a cut above most others. She is!

In answer to a frequent (snide) remark asking me what business it is of mine - I live here, he doesn't. I'm in a good position to keep an eye on this lady and conduct covert investigations. That's what friends do - help each other.

Yes, by default red flags abound when the girl is found in a bar. So far she has passed every test.

Hope it all works out for 'your friend'.

She will have a discharge book and military ID tags if she was in the navy.

Thanks! Yes, that's a good idea... and photos too.

No one can answer your questions, because there isnt enough info.

Was she enlisted or officer?

What was her rank?

What was her speciallity? (nurse is a generic term)

No need to speak English, I was talking to a girl in Lotus the other month, ex Thai navy, radar operator, she couldnt speak English.

Two red flags jump out here.

1, these jobs arent easy to come by, with 25 years experience between you, you will be aware of the patronage system that exists.

2. Way too many benefits to give up, most see it out to the end.

Which leads me to point 3, if she actually was Navy and took advantage of the benefits mentioned above, how much does she owe?

No one can answer or help the op as the Navy Nurse is 'bar talking' & the op is trying to find justification to keep paying her a monthly retainer for personal services.

Well you and I know that, as does every other Tom Dick and Somchai, but I would have thought with 25 years Thai experience between them they would know that.

Its not what she did in the past, its the future, can the potential Knight in White Shining Armour afford the running costs.

She has already proven to be motivated by money, walking away from a 30k baht per month salary many Thais would love to earn.

Best of luck to him, and all who sail in her.

Yes, their girl is always, different., LOL.

Thanks for your input. Regarding salary, it was just a question if that figure is possible as a Navy nurse after 9 years. Apparently she studied at college before joining the Navy at age 22. That is what she said she was getting.

I'll have to admit that I don't know anything about the Thai Navy. I've honestly never given it much thought, hence my questions on here.

That's a ridiculous conclusion to make with no information to go by. As of this writing, no monthly retainer has yet been paid.

Seriously dude, we aren't fools. Maybe you did that yourself at one stage, but my friend prefers to investigate first before jumping into any commitment. He has even considered paying private investigators. He has never supported any girl in the past after visiting Thailand at least twice a year for 15 years, which attests to his cautiousness in such matters.

Yes the salary is perfecty plausible, but without knowing other factors I cant comment further, too be honest, it seems rather on the low end.

As mentioned before, how much does she owe?

If she was RTN she would be in line for a whole shitload of benefits, which makes me query why she walked away from it.

Another red flag, if she hated nursing so much, why didnt she remuster to another trade/profession within the RTN?

As mentioned before, nurse is a generic term, why didnt she get an office job?

What's this? You made a well balanced post earlier, now you've decided to come back and bait. Why did you decide to do that? You were getting bored perhaps?

When one has had some experience, one CAN find girls who are different, but we don't want "different", we seek better. It doesn't hurt to aim higher.

Are you seriously suggesting that what she did in the past is not important? That's just plain wrong - what she did in the past is extremely important. How honest she is about what she did in the past is also very important. Honesty is key. Dishonestly will not earn the monthly retainer.

Incidentally, I've already spoken with a well known PI here who investigates bargirls and he claims 20% check out OK. That may surprise some of the more jaded people on here who would probably guess 100% are bad.

Why is nurse a generic term? To me a nurse is a nurse and it's not ambiguous.

Why didn't she get an office job? - perhaps because she didn't want to work in an office.

If the salary is plausible, that's all I need to know.

She did "remuster" to another profession... the oldest one in the world LOL. As stated, she started working in a bar in Walking Street. If she passes the test, her salary will increase. I'm sure all girls who work in the bar know or know of other girls who hit the jackpot.
