From this page http://www.thai-or.com/visa-information/ It appears to be not that bad. No employment proof like others ask for.t I think the bank statement amount is an error. Probably $7000 not baht.

  • Passport
  • 2 Passport photos
  • Visa application
  • Bank Statement showing at least 7,000 Baht
  • Cash or Money Order made payable to Royal Thai Consulate General.
  • Please see requirements below for non-US Passports.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-US PASSPORT HOLDERS

In addition to the above requirements, please submit a total of four (4) passport photos, a copy of your airline tickets or itinerary, a copy of your Permanent Residence Card or US Visa, and a copy of current bank statement.

So with the multiple entry (2) the fee was $80. Plus 3800 baht for 2 months extension (1+1), or about $110 with the exchange rate. so $200 instead of $190 and less headache. Seems like a step forward.

No employment proof is a no-brainer; Yes, I work for XYZ widgets, please waste your time calling my brother. lol

But it would be easier if you could stay the entire 6-months inside LOS. I don't get that part.....they are risking you spending money and time outside LOS.

The real multiple entry tourist visa is equal to a 3 entry visa since you can still do an entry just before it expires and get another entry.

For some making a border hop might be better than doing the the 30 day extensions.

So after 60 days you can't go to Chaeng Wattana & get a 30 day extention for 1,900 baht like the tourist visas?

"Six months from the date of entry..."

So that means if you enter on 1st December then the visa expires on 1st June. Your six months are up. Won't matter how much time you spend in another country every 60 days.

.

A visa is valid from the day it is issued NOT the date when it is first used.
