The ceremony was unique, featuring age-old traditions from the Chidchob lineage. A central feature was an elephant ceremony, where participants fed bananas to elephants, symbolising good fortune. This was followed by a wrist-tying ritual, a traditional act believed to bring luck, conducted by the revered monk, Khuru Pakam. The ceremony, attended by numerous celebrants, was not just a personal milestone for Newin but also spotlighted the political aspirations and networks within the Bhumjaithai Party. Anutin, presently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, is seen by many as a potential candidate for the nation's top political position. In response to the ritual and well wishes, Anutin reciprocated by tying a string on Newin's wrist, offering good health and that Newin's own desires might manifest, reported THai Newsroom. Rediscovering Purpose for Retired Expats in Thailand
Surely, too much of something can become boring. Even the "charms of the ladies". My observation is, that few Farangs engage in activities that benefit the local Thai folks. Some are starting to look for a "stable relationship" as an anchor in their later years, after having explored all the possibilities of short term aquaintances. Often resulting in "marriage". This may work but statistically it does mostly not work, at least not for the Farang. IMHO best for Farangs is to post on AN during the week, (relentlessly) and hit the town over the weekend. Some of us do just that, I never got the impression that they get bored. Way to go, before considering marriage. -

According to a federal government report, there are only 2.8 million eligible voters overseas. -In 2020, the number of civilian UOCAVA votes inexplicably doubled from their normal average. -The Democrats have spent 6 figures on the "vote from abroad" program the rake in more unverified civilian overseas ballots this year. -In 2020, just 44,000 votes across Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin votes won Joe Biden the presidency. What's behind the current THB strength?
I had 300K US$ and 320K Euro sitting idle in a Kasikorn FCD for almost a decade, but I considered it chump change. Got it? I made a wrong investment decision at that time, but even if it went to zero, I wouldn't have to reduce the size of my breakfast or move to Isaan to survive. I obviously don't have the investor knowledge most members on this forum have, but even at only 1.5% on my current savings in Thai banks, I'm sure the money gonna outlast me, and I don't even mention the funds in my home country accounts, so why take any risks -
