My company Pattaya Ocean Tours operating from our office at the Pattaya Palace Hotel began a Koh Sichang tour in 1985 every Thursday with one of our six boats. Once on Koh Sichang we were met by an Englishman Farmer John who acted as our guide. He ran goats and sheep on the island and supplied them to Muslims on the mainland who would come to pick them up. His father used to be the warden of the prison on Koh Pai during the second world war. There was a very nice sandy beach at the South of the island and had no one living there. The small island off the main town had many girls based there who used to keep the sailors happy as the freighters would load cargoes off the North of the island. It is good to see Koh Sichang in the news again as it reminded me of typical Greek island with it's town village and architecture.

Good luck,

John Stall, Koh Samui
