ExpatOilWorker
There are a few restaurants in Bangkok offering a real fine dining experience, but often they are a bit off the beaten shopping center track or hidden away in hotels that I dont frequent often. If you know of any must-try restaurants, please share. I just came across this French restaurant Jaime (http://www.jaime-bangkok.com), at Sathorn road and was very impressed with the food and service. Not only was the food good, but there was also plenty of it. The pictures are a combination of both the 6 and 9 course set menu.
gamini
looks wonderful. I'll try it next time I go to Bangkok. There's a very nice small Italian restaurant in soi 1, Sukumvit, just near the back entrance to Bungramrad hospital

asdecas
Meh Ngoo Hao's Khao Man Gai, about 150 metres down Sukhumvit Soi 4 on the right hand pavement; best nam jim and chicken broth in Krung Thep. The price is right duay.
Jeffkp
I always enjoy the buffet at the Mandarin. Pricey, but worth it.
orpheus454
Not sure I could fit all that in! Looks great though. While not strictly fine dining, when in town I always head to Wine Connection at K-Village, Suk Soi 16 for a great steak with nice wines by the glass at very reasonable prices. Book at 6:30 pm by eatigo to get 50% discount on food, show up 10 min late and take you time to order the food, because at 7 pm they have 2 for 1 on wine and drinks. MauiSteveBKK
The Rib Room & Bar Steakhouse atop The Landmark Hotel - Sukhumvit. Expensive. Incredible steaks. Awesome View. Here is Tripadvisor Review: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293916-d1806794-r130556662-Rib_Room_Bar-Bangkok.html My Thai Wife and I also enjoy dining at the Chatrium Riverside hotel. You can easily take the BTS to Thaksin Station. Take their shuttle boat to the hotel. (fun to do this). Some nights they have a great band and we slow dance after dinner. Dinner Buffet is aweseome, too. Very romantic - go outside and watch the river traffic at night! SNAPPER NEW ZEALAND. One of our FAVS -- Sukhumvit Soi 22. Not expensive. Manager will help you decide fish and preparation. Next to Charley Brown's Mexican - another FAV for great Queso and Sangria Here is Tripadvisor for Snapper New Zealand: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293916-d2333714-Reviews-Snapper_New_Zealand-Bangkok.html Good luck. When was the last time you were at Wine Connection? They were sold to a Middle Eastern group about a year ago and I think quality has gone down since. https://www.altassets.net/private-equity-news/by-news-type/deal-news/abraaj-buys-into-food-and-drink-chain-wine-connection.html

MeHere
Although not strictly 'fine dining', we often eat at Le Bouchon nestled between the BJ Bar Starlight and the ladyboy bar in the back of Patpong at the Surawong end... Great French food and very reasonable prices :-) Another is Neil's Tavern... we like the Asoke branch because it's usually nice and quiet... the food and service is great at the Asoke branch and not expensive either. F4UCorsair
There's a pie cart on Sukhumvit Soi 9 corner sometimes. My favorite!!

Thanks for the Le Bouchon tip, it sound like a true diamond well hidden away. They even have frog legs on the menu (http://lebouchonpatpong.com/menubouchon.html). Thanks for the Snapper New Zealand tip, which I believe is located at Sukhumvit soi 11 and not soi 22. I have mixed feelings about The Landmark top floor steak house. Steaks are thin and for the price really not that good. The view is good however.
HerbalEd
I think some take a lot of liberty with what is "fine" dining. I have a few favorites but am too selfish to share.

Robuchon (http://robuchon-bangkok.com/menu) would fit the bill as fine dining, but as long as it is tasty it is worth sharing.
smokie36
Zuma at the St Regis hotel....fantastic food. For a cheaper alternative try Isao Suk Soi 31.

That's a very silly attitude. It's also probably self-defeating; you should encourage more custom for your favourite restaurants so they have more revenue and therefore more chance of surviving in a very competitive field. MeHere
Another lovely French restaurant is off Sukhumvit Soi 23 called Le Petit Zinc. Unfortunately I haven't been back there in several years, but I'd recommend it and now since remembering it will return soon!

FruitPudding
Le Dalat, Sukhumvit Soi 23 on the left a ways down past Soi Cowboy. Good Vietnamese food. Yes, excellent food and the toilets are the most interesting I have ever seen. I spent about 15 mins in there, as did most others dining. Though, I don't know if it qualifies for "fine dining", that is cos I don't really know what fine dining is. Or maybe I don't qualify.
wayned
Sorry about the menu for Le Dalat, it is only a sample. I don't know about fine dining, but definitely unique - Cabbages and Condoms on Soi 12. I only ate there once. The food was excellant and the décor interesting! luckizuchinni
Zanotti on Soi Saladaeng 1. This is excellent Italian. I have eaten there with the Prime Minister at the next table, and the clientele is decidedly up-scale, but the food is great, which is why I go. reservations are highly recommended. Zanotti certainly deserve to be mentioned when talking about fine dining. If you go there with a date or as a couple, only the gentleman's menu card will show prices. This is so the lady can select her food without a second though to the cost. Very professional restaurant indeed. They also have Vino di Zanotti on the other side of Sathorn. I have never been there but it looks very nice from their webpage.
