Promenada-Retirement Extension Queue

Featured Replies

With the absence of an on line appointment system, can anyone tell me the following;

1) What time you arrived to gain a queue number?

2) Approximately what time you were seen?

I have heard extremes of a person arriving at 3am and missing out and on the flip side, a person who arrived just after 1pm and was processed.

** Please comment from actual experience......thanks**

This should probably be closed and referenced to the pinned thread on Immigration Promenada.

I assume you're talking about retirement extension queue numbers. I was there yesterday and they distributed 20 queue tickets despite having worked thru the backlog of on-line appointments. They should be passing out 30 tickets now, but they aren't.

Yesterday, the first person arrived at 3 am. 17 people did not received queue numbers. The first of those 17 arrived at 5:45 am and several behind him said they arrived between 5:45 - 6 am.

The day before, Wednesday, 11/11 a visa agent told me she arrived at 5 am and didn't get a queue ticket. She said 22 people didn't get tickets on that day.

Sounds a bad day and almost typical of an escalating problem, that will only get worse if the current process remains.

At some point the backlog will become ridiculous, as even if they were doing 20 a day for 365 days of the year, which they aren't, they would still be well short of appointment slots vs numbers of retirees.

Personally, I don't need to extend until August 2016, so by then I hope the bubble has burst, so to speak.............
