Bangkok will be host to the One Young World Summit 2015 next week

BANGKOK: -- Advisor to the Bangkok governor Duantemduang Na Chiang Mai said Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) was ready to host the event.

The BMA has been coordinating with the Royal Thai Police in beefing up security measures ahead and during the summit.

The event is expected to be attended by high profile guests and world leaders as well. The Royal Thai Police has agreed to deploy around 300 police officers to ensure security at the event.

As the event will be held in Bangkok, the beauty of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace would be highlighted and used as the backdrop for the opening ceremony of the One Young World Summit 2015 set to be held at Sanam Luang ground on November 18.

BMA hopes the move would help present the magnificent Thai-style architecture to the rest of the world, she said.

Former United Nations (UN) secretary-general Kofi Annan will give an opening speech at the official launch of the event.

After which a performance of drums from artists around the globe will be showcased, aiming to reflect how diversity can create a joint force that could bring about change to the rest of the world, she said.

She said that as Bangkok itself is full of diversities and is the centre of diversity in all aspects, drum performance will be the highlight of the show.

She explained that a cultural show using only a single music instrument which is the drum, and not just the western drums which all are used to seeing, but a drum made locally from each country that is participating in the event.

The drums will represent the differences of every country around the world and the show will act as a stage in bringing all the drums together, turning them into just one music band which has the capacity to create harmonious rhythm and joy, despite the fact that all the drums have come different origins, she said.

The One Young World platform will not only serve as an opportunity for youths from around the globe to express their opinions to help solve global problems on a world stage, but will also affirm Thailand’s potential as a host for global level functions, as Thailand is the first country in the Asian region to be selected as the host of this summit.

Some New World Order brainwashing for the brainless... and a cheap junket holiday for the flunkies who comprise it...

A 'One World' order ruled by a rootless bankster clique with its capital in Jerusalem... as opposed to a world filled with free sovereign nations.

What will be the preferred language for communicating at said event?

Hope it's Thai for Thailand's sake or they will have to find those 6 (out of 43,000 teachers) that can speak English to the required standard.
