Yeah I've noticed an lipstick I. checkpoints all around town recently...a real PITA too. I got stopped for the first time in 10 years in my car the other day and my 6 month expired registration and 8 year expired driving license cost me 500 baht in supplemental road tax paid on the spot :-)

Extremely strange I have to insure my bike for the showroom to issue my annual tax disk, but I guess this can be done by the individual separately but no tax no insurance back home, but Thailand I guess has its own version of the law.

This is wby we do not need any insurance sticker on vehicles: tax cannot be paid without insurance, so if you have your tax sticket it means that you have insurance !

Driving with expired license could cost your a lot more in case of accident, not a smart idea.

They have been out there all week. Not just people without helmets being stopped, just about every motorcycle being stopped and documents checked. Not seen them taking keys so must have a fine payment system set up on site?

They take your licence, you then need to go to the police station to pay the fine so you can get your license back.

They don't mind you riding your bike to the police station, even though they just fined you for it.
