I'm surprised that no one has mentioned gogo bars. Does no one enjoy hanging out in them?

No, believe it or not but I am happily married and got a 6 year old kid and we don't hang around in go-go's.

Perhaps when my son turn 18, we might go and have a look, I said look.biggrin.png

My wife enjoys a bit of gogo bar hopping too... and we too are happily married, although sans kid.biggrin.png

Central Festival - nice to wonder around before lunch. Then a cup of tea at the Royal Project shop to watch the passing parade.

Not quite Pattaya, but the inland areas on the other side of the darkside - lots of greenery - great for an amble on the motorbike for a couple of hours, bit of a stop here and there for a drink. Locals can be very nice.

Next to KFC on the lower ground floor.

I know a 70 year old viagra addled grandpa with bad knees....goes to gogos....hits on coyotes who charge him 1500 barfine and 3,000 short time.....then he boasts how young girls are attracted to him.

Theres only one person getting screwed in gogos .... the punter.

favorite place - the bus station to bangkok

Then why come in the first place? I like Central and also the cheap or free parking at the various shopping centre's.

The choice of restaurants is pretty good for a place in SE Asia. Good, recent movies in English at the dirt cheap movie places.

Why are you negative about 70 year old having some fun if he can afford it? Good on him! Just because you think it's too expensive doesn't mean it is for other punters. Those numbers are pretty standard for Walking Street - some are higher. Some will turn their noses up at that.

BTW, the girls are attracted to him. They are usually more attracted to cashed up punters than Cheap Charlies - it's a fact that many younger, more handsome guys don't grasp. Are you young and handsome perhaps?

Anyways, what would suggest a 70 year old should be doing? Sitting at home doing crosswords feeling sorry himself because his knees are bad, waiting to die? Are you against older men gaining a new lease on life through Viagra?

Many of the callow youth often mock the things they are to be. I am 70. I am as active today as I was 40 years ago, perhaps more so. I would more than be happy to have an arm wrestle with the 20 and 30 year olds. More importantly than just good youthful looks, I have years of wisdom, decades of success and pockets full of baht. The young cheap Charlies can't beat that. I offer far more to a woman than just marathon sex. I get into her mind as well. Something youth is incapable of.

As the old bull said to the young bull...let's walk down the hill and <deleted> them all.

Youth and skill will always be defeated by age and treachery.

Markland hotel on beach road soi 1 has a restaurant on the 27th floor/roof. Open from 6am - 11pm. Go anytime to take in a 360 degree view and a nice breeze. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great for watching fireworks.

I walk beach road nearly every day and take a water break on the roof.

The glass elevator is another nice feature.

Maybe hes just upset at getting sloppy seconds or thirds to the grandpas in gogos, his hang outs are 808 and insom, which funnily swell in numbers around gogo closing times.whistling.giflaugh.png

Getting into a Thai woman's mind. Now that's a novel idea.

But is there really enough room?

As for being active at 70, I'm not yet 60 and I also have pockets full of Baht, but the most activity I want is getting up from my afternoon siesta and walking across the room to my armchair for a cup of tea.

Any roof top hotel bar (Holiday Inn; Siam@Siam; Hilton; Pullman ) having a drink and watching the sun go down in a quiet surrounding or even some of the restaurants have a decent view to watch the sun go down such as Carl's Junior's (3rd floor at Central; Hippo Restaurant (6th floor at Central); Central Food Court (3rd floor) and one can sit outside at the food court or Sta rBucks at Royal Garden shopping center.

Yes, good call - he's the guy whose favourite hangout is Insomnia. The only possible reason to go there would be to find some ladies on a limited budget... and as you say, quite likely grandpas "sloppy seconds or thirds". biggrin.png

Another reason a lot of younger punters go to the discos is because they think they are finding "normal" girls and going on dates. It makes them feel slightly better about paying for it, but the only difference is they're getting the sloppy seconds, or rejects of the 70 year old cashed up punters.

It's all quite silly really and nothing more than denial. Nothing beats going into a bar and paying for the best, on the spot, no games. The young handsome guys are quite welcome to pick up the scraps later on, in the discos and along Beach Road.
