Hi

This may seem like a stupid question and probably is, but I'm going nuts here!

I'm trying to talk to AIS service on their 1175 number. The call is answered by an automatic system - in Thai, as you might expect - but there is an option to 'press 2 for other language'. My problem is how do I do this? I can get the keypad back and I can press 2 but there seems to be no way of forwarding this action so the phone just sits there with '2' on the keypad display and nothing further happens. There seems to be no option to get any further so I just have to hang up.

Anyone know what I should be doing? There surely must be a way round this - probably simple but I can't work it out. The problem is not specific to the AIS service - same same on any connection that requires a choice to be made from a menu by pressing a number key.

The phone is an iMobile IQ5.3 running Android 4.2, if that's any help.

Thanks,

DM

You should be able to find this icon on the bottom left of your screen when making a call

Tap it and it will open up the dialing pad so that you can choose the appropriate number for the incall options you need

It is blue on my Nexus but I just checked the TG's iMobile and hers is black like the screen cap above

Yes, I can do that. The number pad appears and if I tap '2' for instance, that shows on the display but there seems no way of transmitting the number. That's where I'm stuck.

On my phones I've never needed to manually transmit the number while in-call. When following menu prompts, pressing a digit on the phone keypad is automatically/instantly transmitted.

I thought that too but it doesn't seem to work for me in my IQ 5.3. If I bring up the keypad and press '2' for option 2 the Thai language spiel just continues and there is no indication that anything has happened at all. Maybe I have a bug or a dodgy phone.

Might be time for a new phone anyway as this iMobile device has other issues as well - sometimes just switches off or gets very hot or suddenly flattens its battery. I haven't been able to sort this - might be a rogue app but if it is I can't determine what it is. I've tried a few battery care apps etc. but nothing has helped.

When I run into these type of problems I take the item back to the dealer and have them teach me

I did do an extensive Google search and most instructions state what wpcoe posted

Here is just one:

http://www.wikihow.com/Call-an-Extension-Number

That link has a lot of potentially useful info. I'll have to read it carefully.

It may be that I have to wait until the end of the spiel before pressing another number key as I've not been doing that.

Thanks.
