Question about re-entry visa

Featured Replies

I will be coming to Thailand in 20 days and will stay for the duration of nearly 3 months with single entry visa.5-6 days after arrival in Bangkok i will be heading to Laos,Cmbodia and Vietnam and i'm planning to stay outside Thailand about 1 month. Is it possible to make re-entry visa before in Bangkok before i go outside Thailand so i can return to Thailand after laos, cambodia and vietnam trip?

You can get a re entry permit to keep your entry valid when you return to the country. It adds no extra days you will be stamped in to the same date you will get on entry using your visa.

You can apply for it an immigration or at either airport in Bangkok 24 hours a day on departure from the country. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht.

Yes you can obtain a re-entry permit from CW for 1,000 baht. When you return you will be granted the remainder of your original 60 day stay. That stay can then be extended by 30 days at immigration for 1,900 baht.

Depending on your nationality you could forget the visa and re-enter using visa exempt entry. You're granted 30 days at an airport and 30 days if you're from a G7 country and arriving by land. Visa exempt entry can also be extended by 30 days. If you're not from a G7 country and re-entering by land you only get 15 days.

If you're from a G7 country or re-entering via air it would be better to forget the visa and re-enter on visa exempt entry. Otherwise it would be better to get the re-entry permit.

Edit: The above assumes you're entering with a tourist visa. If not then ignore.

No such thing as a Reentry Visa, it is a permit as explained by Ubonjoe, which keeps your current visa as valid.

After re-entry:

When does the clock start ticking again as far as 90 day reporting is concerned?

- When staying out of Thailand for less than 90 days

- When staying out of Thailand for more than 90 days

Thx & cheers.

Day 1 is the day you were stamped in at the point of entry upon your return.

How long you are OUT of Thailand is irrelevant to when you need to do a 90 day report. Assuming you have a valid re-entry permit or while you have a still valid O-A visa, for example, when you return to Thailand your next 90 day report to immigrations will be due as soon as you've been IN Thailand for 90 uninterrupted days ... the day you re-enter Thailand plus 89 more days.
