Thai Police find South Korean Man Beaten to Death in Chon Buri Resort

CHON BURI -Pol Maj Gen Amporn Buarapporn, chief of Chon Buri police, has reported the body of 25-year-old South Korean, Im Dong Jun, was found at a luxury resort in Bang Lamung district early Sunday.

Pol Maj Gen Amporn Buarapporn said they believe he was beaten to death, allegedly by mafia gang members from his country who then fled to Vietnam, leaving the body left at a resort .

Im Dong Jun body was found at 4am and reported by Yoon Myung Kun, 31, a South Korean national.

Police, forensic officials and rescue workers went to the scene and found the body of the man inside a black Honda CRV with a Bangkok license plate parked at the resort.

Tragic. Really brutal end to the week-end in Pattaya judging by this am's news items ?

sad.png May he rest in peace.

Interesting that the post deliberately tries to avoid using the word "Pattaya" as the scene of the crime. Bad for tourism I expect :(

You will notice that this is the case more often when reporting negative news recently. I guess they received instructions.

The Korean Mafia would not logically travel to Thailand to beat someone to death. It, of course, cannot be Thais that did it.

crickey ! those south koreans are a nasty bunch ....... at least no burmese were implicated this time blink.png

From the new Ministry of Re-naming?

What the Korean mafia couldn't already be here, or could they..

Before they actually know anything it would be nice to admit it...and go ahead with investigation.

I wonder what evidence pointed them to this conclusion, I was half expecting it to be a suicide.

Actually, the post deliberately (and accurately) describes the location of the crime, which was not Pattaya.

That isn't no Korean Mafia. Strong odor of bullshit.. Again I hope they catch the Thais responsible...

Always helpful to click on the link and read the full story before opening mouth.

Of course.

Started shaking mu head as soon as I read that bit.

Maybe because it was not in Pattaya :)

(was found at a luxury resort on Thetsaban 1 Road near Wat Huay Yai temple in tambon Huay Yai, police said )

About every month they (Koreans) are arrested for running the on-line gambling in Thailand, worth (they report many Millions $$)

They do all that, but are daunted (you say) by the 2 hour plane flight if one of their "sect" has ripped them off etc.

Your right (when in doubt about anything) lets blame the Thai population

Why do you wonder? The story is extremely clear on this point, repeatedly. Even clearer than describing where this took place, which was not Pattaya.

Some real ignorant posts here (not the Korean mafia, Thais did it).

Seems those members haven't followed the strings of criminal activities of Koreans in this country.

Thai police/immigration has a close watch on them.

That can happen when visa regulations are lax. They get three month visa exempt (visa free) entry.

Interesting that the O/P is a report from the Chiang Rai Times not one of the more local journals.

Isint it marvelous how the big Police man knew exactly who did it and why and where they went afterwards, and those thai mafia never said black was white.and dont forget what will happen when they find the Ids OF THE NICE MEN IN THE CRV,must close that border again now that the bad men have gone,to BANGKOK>

I went to a job where a Korean (a giant of a man) had punched to death another Korean man at a Korean Karaoke bar in Sukhumvit. It was not a "hit" but more of a compulsive anger problem I think but the purp was calm as ice and even in cuff's was asking for whiskey to be poured down his throat. The policeman there told me that the Korean mafia is well known in Bangkok but don't "seem" to get up to much there.
My Japanese friend also has friends in the Japanese Yakuza here in Bangkok but they are also all businessmen now, they are smart and know the right people to pay off and business is good for them, so yes I do believe it could have been done by Korean mafia.

I wonder what evidence pointed them to this conclusion, I was half expecting it to be a suicide.

If you would read the entire article your post would not have been necessary smile.png

The Koreans have their own district on Sukhumvit road Bangkok......Korea Town. Being only 25 ,i would say its highly likely he was whacked by Koreans who came down the highway or even took a quick flight from Korea....easy. The yakuza wont think twice about sending people o/seas to whack someone who strayed from the pack.

The yakuza are here as are just about every mafia or crime syndicates from around the world. Germans,Scandinavian,Brits, Russians and Australian heroin syndicates to name a few.

Australian crime families have been exporting heroin and buddha sticks since the 1970's.

Presumably the senior cops all get paid off and that reduces the violence and arrest stats.

You got that one wrong! Reliable island policemen use to say, "A Thai would never do such a thing!"

Never stops amazing me the stupid moronic lengths TV posters like you will go to have a go at Thais.

Perhaps the South Korean National who found him was able to shed light on who etc.
