About Accident Insurance - it just makes sense.

You have life insurance cover with a term plan to safeguard your family's financial future. You also have a comprehensive health insurance plan to pay your hospital bills. Your car is insured against damage and theft, while your house is covered against natural and man-made disasters and burglary. Have you overlooked something? It is quite possible you don't have personal accident insurance.

Accident Insurance helps you handle the medical and out-of-pocket costs that add up after an accidental injury. This includes emergency treatment, hospital stays and medical examinations, plus other expenses you may face, such as transportation and accommodation requirements.

An accident can easily devastate your finances. Personal accident cover is designed to provide financial help if you have a serious accident or injury, or worse still, if you suffer a fatal accident.

What Pacific Cross Health Insurance has to say…

Personal Accident insurance is designed to pay an agreed amount of money to the policy beneficiary if and when certain specified events take place to the insured person. Typically the principal covered event would be to pay out the sum insured if the insured person dies or is permanently disabled as the result of an accident.

Accidents strike without warning and to people who are not to blame in any way, other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If you are killed as the result of an accident, the sum insured will be paid to your nominated beneficiary, providing cash to cover funeral expenses, and help replace the loss of your income to your beneficiaries. If you are disabled in any way, the sum insured will help to cover your medical and other expenses, and help to cover any lost income until you are able to return to work.

No medical questions or examinations?

Personal Accident insurance normally does not require any medical tests or examinations, but is only available to people who have occupations that do not expose them to higher than normal risk of accidental death or injury.

Thailand’s best personal accident insurance - two plans tailored to suit your requirements

Pacific Cross Health Insurance offers two Personal Accident plans, ranging from annual premiums as low as 999 baht, through to coverage as high a 5 million baht in death and disability cover.

How is this different than life insurance? I need insurance to pay for my personal medical care, not to a beneficiary.

Life insurance pays out on your demise or when the term of the policy expires (depending on your policy) and does not cover your health costs in the event of an accident.

The purpose of accident insurance is to cover you for an accident only. For example, and incident like a car crash, falling over. It would not cover you for cancer, heart attack which are more conditions.

If you are looking for cover for an illness and accident insurance, I would suggest you look at a health insurance policy.

Actually the included motorcycle coverage either as passenger or rider up to 250k baht isnt to bad on plan 1 for 4,449 baht .

I think the policy is worth it for that alone. Most bike accidents are grazing and the odd broken bone. Im not sure but I think 250k would cover that, anyone know?

I think the policy is worth it for that alone. Most bike accidents are grazing and the odd broken bone. Im not sure but I think 250k would cover that, anyone know?

Agree for Death or Disability - but only 30,000 Baht for medical expenses.

Directly below its says 50k for broken bones. So how does that fit in with the 30k medical expenses?

The Exclusive Plan (1) offer peace of mind but you should be aware that by implementing Plan (2) the benefits are doubled for only an additional THB 1,800

The 250K would cover basic and non surgical treatment.

The Medical Expense per accident is for the room/board, food, nursing charge and/or other medical expense and this varies according the plan selected.

Broken Bones, Burns and Internal Injury Benefit is in addition to the Medical Expense per accident.

Good Morning

Could someone please answer the following questions for me relating to the Personal Accident policy...

1. On the personal accident insurance am i correct in reading that it can be used in ANY hospital, I am based in Phuket. Are there any restrictions in Phuket, hospital wise on where it can used?

2. How is the benefit paid. Would I pay the bill and then claim it back or would i provide the insurance details and then it would be claimed back directly from insurance?

3. on the executive plan 2 .... section 3 riding on motorcycle 500k benefit.... what is that cover for, what specifically does it cover you for. I can see that the medical expenses in section 4 covers room and board but im sure what the 500,000 therefore covers or provides for?

Thank you for all your help in advance....

Yes any hospital. In the case of an accident, you would not have a choice as the ambulance will take you to the nearest hospital.

2. How is the benefit paid. Would I pay the bill and then claim it back or would i provide the insurance details and then it would be claimed back directly from insurance?

If the hospital is on our registered list, we would deal with the hospital directly. If not then you would claim back the expenses.

It is a maximum of coverage, whatever the accident and whatever the treatment. It does not cover you for future outpatient treatment, therapy, reconstructive surgery etc. This would come under a health insurance plan.
