If confident they are a reputable company, ask for confirmation in writing that they will refund if you can only get a single entry.

Reading between the lines, I think Vientiane was originally planning to issue METVs to non residents based on financial proof only. Visa run companies were informed. Then, Vientiane was told they could not do it.

I do not think it is a scam, but I do not believe they can deliver what they think they can.

I thought the the embassies don't refund money if they don't give you the visa

so I doubt if the company will do to or that is what I always thought

From what I have read on this forum and from reports from people I have spoken to who have been there recently, I believe that Vientiane consulate don't take payment for a visa until you collect your passport on the afternoon of the second day. Therefore, if no visa is given then no payment will be taken, or if a single visa is given only 1,000 baht will need to be paid.

That's good if it is right

But still could be a METV after discussing it on here

The price makes me think so it's 2000THB more then the 9000THB a tripple would have been

Which make sense as the METV is 5000THB and it use to be 1000THB a entry

Where is Loas?

OK I've just been in there its Maneerat Transport and travel soi post office

She said they have had costumers from Europe apply for them and get them

I asked her if it was a METV she didn't seem to understand my question

But she said you must have 200000thb in the bank that's is all I know

I asked her about a refund if I don't get the visa she said she is not sure

I don't think it's a scam but there something missing

I won't be applying for one yet as my visa don't run out till Jan and I might only need a single anyway

Plus I won't have had 200000THB in my bank for 6 months

Yes maybe I will Google there name later, but I've never had any problems with them before but it was just a straight forward visa runs, and one double entry, but I will say if it's a scam I don't see a reason to add the 200000THB bit

my wife runs thaivisaservice and we can confirm that Vientiane and Savannakhet will issue only Single Entry Tourist for many nationalities and the METV for Local only. I think the agent in Pattaya misunderstood. The staff at Embassy would have serious problems if fake documents were presented.

sounds a mess with only half facts forthcoming & staff of company lacking knowledge (not unusual in thailand) . even if can offer something it obviously not truly to the rules. Generally you far better doing research & sorting visas yourself as it cheaper, it legal & it not supporting the corrupt cockroaches that are messing up the system.

Yes they did, but the problem was that they only had a 3 month validity period, so you got no extra time "in country".

One presumes what the shop is calling a triple entry is in fact the multiple entry.

Be careful.

There are agents who will charge you a lot of money in Vientiane and the Thai embassy knows there names well.

You can end up with a fake visa, and losing a lot of money to the agent, as well as what was paid to the Thai embassy also.

Just be careful, after 13 November double an triple entry tourist visas offered are probably fake

I am guessing, really, that since events in Bangkok the whole system has been tightened.

If an METV is issued anywhere with 'dodgy' paperwork it's possible that on entering Thailand the holder may be asked to verify the details supplied to support the visa, eg, proof of work, money in the bank etc.

It's been discussed many times on TV that holding a visa doesn't ensure you will be allowed to enter. That decision is made on the day at the point of entry into Thailand.

My feeling is still that in 99.99% of cases they will stick to the rules for a good while and maybe some relaxing will filter in later at some places. Time frame for that ? Your guess is as good as mine.

Yes I Google there name I could only find one review but repeated about 10 times on different sites, but I only had a quick look, so I not sure if the other post was correct about can't being trusted

If you read my post I said "suggests" there is a big difference,

If a employee in the shop does not know what a visa type is it would not fill me with much confidence, would it you?

It would be the same as calling your wifes company to ask for info about different visa types before I booked a trip and them not knowing, it would not fill me with much confidence if they were clueless, thankfully I have used her company in the past and know it is a good service but i'm sure you get my point
