Roof rack for Innova in Lam Luk Ka/Min Buri - where please?

Featured Replies

Hi All

We have a Toyota Innova and have been looking for a roof rack, preferably full length which would mean bespoke.

Can this learned forum point me to where I can go to get a nice polished stainless steel one made up in the Lam Luk Ka /Min Buri area please?

There is no roof groove fixing it seems and there are no gutters so a rack would be the same as the old Pajero rack - feet on roof and flat hook into door openings.

And Toyota don't list or sell racks for the Innova, nor tow bars either so clearly Thailand is years behind in leisure industry car accessory stuff!

Googling the subject led me to a post on this forum from 2009 alleging that alongside the Rangsit/Ayuthaya road just past the University of Rangsit, along the inner service road were loads of places doing bull bars, pick-up cages, roof racks and the like.

Sure enough there are loads of places doing stainless and mild steel fabrication work, one my wife went into saw me at the wheel and demanded 12,000 baht, the next didn't see me and asked for 3500 baht for a very nice Carryboy rack including assembly and fitting. True, they were a bit downcast when they saw who was driving but they had already quoted by then. So, keeping to the inside road going through Rangsit having come off the motorway just past the UNI in the direction of Ayuthaya if anyone else wants to know. Loads of places all doing the same things.
