Egypt says 90 percent chance of hidden rooms in Tut tomb

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt on Saturday said there is a 90 percent chance that hidden chambers will be found within King Tutankhamun's tomb, based on the preliminary results of a new exploration of the 3,300-year-old mausoleum.

Speaking at a press conference in Luxor on Saturday, Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el-Damaty said the results will be sent to Japan for a monthlong analysis before the search is resumed.

British Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves theorizes that Tutankhamun, better known as King Tut, who died at the age of 19, may have been rushed into an outer chamber of what was originally Queen Nefertiti's tomb.

Famed for her beauty, Nefertiti was the subject of a famous 3,300-year-old bust.

Luxor, in southern Egypt, served as the pharaonic capital in ancient times, and is home to sprawling temples and several ancient tombs.

Wonder if the rooms are going to be filled with wheat.

The tourists will be keen to look at that. Will it be very droopy?

Yeah, well. better find the hidden rooms and treasures before ISIS comes along and destroys it all.

Wonder if the rooms are going to be filled with wheat.

+1

Send the wannabe president of The US, Mr. Ben Carson, to the opening ceremony !

Maybe Nofretete/Nefertiti will turn over in her golden coffin getting an awful shock.

To be serious, it's a pity that Howard Cater cannot witness this ceremony.

...........duhhh...dumb us....

...instinctively anyone can guess that the purpose of the pyramids was MONUMNETAL.....otherwise they would not have bothered...

...there are several Youtube videos on the subject....

...one of them shows an aerial view at night....light emanating out the top of each pyramid....

...and apparently they represent a star configuration as well...

I think I am correct in saying that although they have a complete bust of Nefertiti -

a beautiful woman comes - her mummy has never been found. It is conjectured that

she was the mother or Tutankhamen, but this has not been established as fact.

The three great pyramids at Giza are closely aligned to the three stars in the belt

of Orion.

Wonder if the rooms are going to be filled with wheat.

Yeah, well. better find the hidden rooms and treasures before ISIS comes along and destroys it all.

ISIS would only destroy they site after they had looted every artifact of value for sale. Hypocrite criminal scum.

If there is a hidden room in Tutankhamun's tomb, and it contains a body, then I believe it is more likely to contain the body of his father, Akhenaton. There was no reason to hide Nefertiti's body, but every reason to hide Akhenaton's as he had really upset the priests by declaring there was only one god.

Still one too many.

As Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon looted it originally!
