The Deerhunter
I have friends over from home and we are meeting them in Pattaya over Christmas. There will be 4 of us. I was thinking of Jameson's Irish pub for Christmas dinner. Has anyone any constructive comments or alternative suggestions?

Mantra & Sportsman look interesting. Good promotion by the Sportsman, though. No address, phone or email on the poster. Perhaps it is designed as an on-site-only poster. Personally I think that nearly all the Xmas prices in Pattaya and mentioned so far in this thread are way over the top and have been for several years. Supply and demand, I suppose. There's only one Dec 25th each year and if you want to eat a special meal on that day you have to pay the price. I expect that the same meal on another day would only cost half the quoted prices. That said, if you get some really luxury items and entertainment at the big hotels then maybe the meal is worth 2500 or 3500B. The Sportsman's contact details are easy to find online and for anyone who doesnt know they are in Soi 13 opposite The Avenue mall. Their food is usually good but is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Same applies to their Xmas menu. Dicey Reilly usually does a discount for early orders on these special menus, so maybe that will apply to the quoted prices. There have been some quite big increases in many restaurants this year, I think. Not just limited to Xmas menus or particular places. It's not hard to find better and cheaper restaurant meals in the UK now.

I suppose the +/- 50% price hike is related to the turkey shortage in Thailand.
