Are Thai's reluctant to purchase goods or services from a farang? I was having a chat with a friend of mine who thinks one of the biggest hurdles in running a company in Thailand, will be the sales and marketing as Thai's don't trust farangs.  

I'm curious what people's views are.

Not at all. Your business in fact has more crediability having a ' white face"  I know several farang that were hired as MD's just to get more sales. Not for their knowledge but the color of their  skin.

Its a Myth about Thais not wanting to do business with Foreigners. Its exact opposite.
