Does anyone have recent experience with the number of copies required for a renewal/extension of retirement visa aka Non-immigrant "O" visa to bring to Chaengwattana, for each of the following?

Competed TM7 form

passport photograph

photocopies of (passport information page, current visa page, entry stamp page, departure card

address registration

proof of income

These are what I remember being required last time of renewal.

The referenced page of the Foreign Ministry for applying Non "O" Imm visa has more requirements but, without saying it, I think their info is for first time applicant or applicant in a foreign country Thai embassy.

The photo needs to be 4 X 6 cm or slighly larger.

You also need a copy of your current extension stamp.

Thank you, i've got thet part. But, is it just one copy of each of the items listed or do they want multiple copies of each?

Thanks again.

I was sitting at the dentists office using my tablet and had to cut my post short when they called my name.

It is only one copy of every thing.

Only the original for your proof of income.

Hope it was a painless visit.

Thanks as ever for the assist. Tomorrow I'll put it all on their desk and hope for a swift new stamp and out the door.

You cannot extend a visa. A visa is a permission to ENTER the country. An extension of stay is a permission to STAY in the country. The visa is cancelled when you receive an extension of stay.

Just to finish the conversation here and perhaps give others hope. 4 December, Friday, murderous traffic to Chaengwattana out of Lad Phrao arrived a little after 08:00 and was #42 in line, queue board was working on #7. Around 11:00 submitted my docs to a Thai official, one copy each. She handed me, in addition to all the docs I had given her, a 3 page statement that required entering name, address, phone, passport #, etc and signatures. That doc she then completed with her name and signature.

I pointed out I didn't have the departure card or departure card number in my docs. She wrote a number in passport next to last entry stamp and moved on. Seemed like it was of little or no consequence. The rest was shuffling papers and stamping. Passed to the supervisors desk for more shuffle, stamps and signatures and released to wait. Lunch break, and around 14:00 they handed me back passport with new stamp, visa and expiration in a year. Easiest renewal, extension of stay ever.

There appears to be some confusion about what you received. Was it a "visa" (very unlikely) or an "extension of stay" ?

It's a Stay Permit, extension of stay permitted one year Retirement. For me it's a fine point but I take your point not to add to the confounding process.
