CDC to finish review of charter framework in 2 weeks

BANGKOK, 5 December 2015 (NNT) - The Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) will complete its review of the framework of the new charter within the next 2 weeks.

According to CDC spokesperson Norachit Sinhaseni, the drafting body had been discussing the chapter pertaining to the country’s legislation as well as organic laws which will be enforced alongside the new constitution.

The spokesperson expects the charter drafting team to finish reviewing all provisions within a fortnight before actually starting to write the first draft.

Speaking about qualifications for election candidates, he said the revision of the election law was not meant to keep particular groups from entering elections, but rather, its aim was to prevent all corrupt individuals from entering politics.

It is good to see some progress , however one can't help but noticing a certain amount of bulldozing of opinions to suit the Junta, perhaps another rewrite and the entire sacking of the CDC replaced by people who do know democracy, like a panel of academic's qualified in the democracy learnings will eventuate, surprises have been known to happen and I might win Lotto........................................... .
