I have been looking for a canvas soft cover for a new Mitsubushi 4 door Triton, there seems to be 2 large companies, carryboy and Aeroklas . I required a roll up canvas cover to enable full bed usage, roller type occupy about 30cm of bed space, behind the rear window.

The aeroklas one is a roll up canvas type with one supporting thin metal bar, and is secured to the rear bed liner by way of press studs. costs given on the telephone at Rayong were 5,500 baht.

The carryboy one again a roll up canvas type supported by 2 thin metal bars, is secured to the rear bed liner by a metal frame being secured to the liner, the metal frame having velcro fitted, as does the canvas. ranging in price from 4,000 baht from carryboy direct and 5,500 baht at a local Rayong fitting centre

Decided on the carryboy model as i didn't like the idea of press studs, only to be informed that they no longer carry this product.

So back to the drawing board and more research, found a company in Bangkok that supply what i was looking for, with either 2 or 3 metal supporting bars thicker then either of the other 2 makes. A velcro u shaped plastic strip is slipped over the rear bed liner and secured using very small screws into the liner, the canvas then secured by velcro. cost fitted 2,500 baht for the 3 supporting bar option.

Looks like it would be a pain to open and close too often.

have to just pull the velco, you can still open the tail gate easily, the roller type take up too much space

aeroklas have a factory near Rayong....why not pop down and see what you can get?

didn't like the press stud fixing

Firstly they might be able to show you new product, secondly they might like the feedback and thirdly one wonders how well velcro will survive a couple of years of road dirt and grime.
