Double entries visa : Border run

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

First of all, I would like to thanks ThaiVisa community for providing such valuable infos.

However with all the new thai laws popping up lately about visa I'm still a bit confuse about my case.

I have a double entries visa issued in Vientiane almost 3month ago now, so I have to border run before December 13.

My question is : Is it possible to take the night train from BKK to Nong khai, Go to the Laos border, and come back to BKK the same day?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

You can do your entry at any border crossing since you have a valid visa for re-entry to the country.

You don't have to go all the way to Laos to do it.

From Bangkok you can do it at the Cambodia border or the one to Myanmar in Kanchantaburi.

Thanks @ubonjoe for your fast reply.

So I can go and back to Cambodia/Myanmar the same day without trouble with thai immigration?

I activated my 2nd entry on my tourist visa recently via land by going to cambodia (poipet) and had no issues whatsoever.

Thanks Jay,

By mini-bus? How long did you stay in Cambodia?

You can cross the border turn around and come right back.

If you want to use a visa run company I can recommend this one. http://www.thaivisaservice.com/

Not even an hour mate. Poipet is a very shady town i was literally in and out. Takes about 4 hours from bkk to reach that border crossing.

Via mini bus.

You must make your second entry on or before the 'enter before' (expiry date) date printed on the visa.

You've had a 30 day extension of stay which often gives a permit to stay beyond the 'enter before' date of the visa. The 'enter before' date is the important one. You must leave on or before your extension of stay finishes but re-enter on or before the 'enter before' date.

If you had planned ahead you could have flown to anywhere visa exempt and flown back same day. Couple of beers at airport. Not expensive.

Bear in mind that Laos and Cambodia both require visas.

You might consider a quick there and back by air to Kuala Lumphur. The airfare is your total cost. With no luggage, airports are not that much of a hassle. The minibus rides and border crossings make for a pretty uncomfortable day.

Not sure of your nationality. If you qualify for visa exempt in Vietnam, Air Asia still has promo fares to HCMC for Saturday (if you are quick):

Outbound 4:00pm arriving 5:30 pm 1320 baht

Return 9:35 pm arriving 11:05 pm 1150 baht

TOTAL 2,470 baht, not bad for late booking

No good if you do not qualify for visa exempt in Vietnam
