Why do so many foreigners sound gleeful at the prospect of Thailand's economy falling into recession?

It's weird

Maybe because if the current unelected dictators demonstrate that they can't run the economy (as happened during the last junta), it might just hasten the road back to democracy.

Most farang like to hear negative stories about Thailand because basically they don't like the locals.....especially the men.

Definitely the men!!

Lived here for 15 years, in business for 12 i can count less than 10 thai men i would trust,Mind you my wife has zero trust in all Thais as you cannot trust them (oh and shes Thai).. a bit harsh but it works for her!
