phuketandsee
Season's greetings to one and all. I see Villa Market's "hand finished" Christmas pudding is a whopping 1300 THB this year. Anyone know of a decent alternative at a more reasonable price? Thanks in advance
kingalfred
800 baht for a 1lb pudding in Central world. Bangkok . Maybe on Phuket also. Still a ridiculous price Edited December 8, 2015 by kingalfred
exbikey
I heard that Lady Pies are selling Xmas puds this year. Im told her pies are generally good but I've never tried her products so cannot personally vouch for the quality and quantity. Last time I was in Central they had some Marks and Sparks puddings. In the past I've eaten lots of this product so can vouch for the quality, but over here a bit pricey though. phuketandsee
Lady Pies is making them but they look a little too like regular fruit cakes - not black like they should be (700 THB). Nothing at Central

I bought two, got one free, but that was a month ago. Still have a bit left. 990 baht for a small pud.

madmitch
Waitrose Christmas pudding (from TOPS) was excellent. Shame about the crappy custard I made!
phuketandsee
I ended up getting mine from Lady Pies. A little dry but amazing what a good dousing with brandy will do (me as well as the pudding). I used sour cream as I don't trust myself to make custard - even before dousing with brandy. JetsetBkk
Marks and Spencer pud was delicious. Pity they've sold out but still have a bit left in the fridge.
