The Board of Investment reaffirms to foreign investors Thailand's unchanged investment policy

BANGKOK: -- After the change of government, Thailand's Board of Investment or BOI issued a statement on 4th October reaffirming to foreign investors that the political transition has not affected investment policies, incentives and services.

It states that BOI will continue to promote investment by both Thais and foreigners. Later this month the BOI will convene a meeting of representatives of the Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Bangkok and senior government officials to provide additional information on specific policies and programs. Meanwhile in Phuket, within the last month investors Destination Properties acquired two local hotels worth approximately 1.2 billion baht, one of which was a tsunami damaged hotel and now under renovation. The company's CEO Gary Murray said the political transition did not affect their decision as they know Thailand well enough.
