USM to LHR return

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'd appreciate any guidance re the above in Apr-May next year. At the moment i'm getting quotes of over a thousand pounds per person which seems expensive when travel in the other direction is half that price!

Hi, Islander.

Have you considered flying to KL with firefly and then to LHR .

KUL-LHR £542 .75 return ticket direct with British airways.

You will although transfer from the old to new airport in KL.

Thanks, I'll certainly bear it in mind along with any other suggestions this thread generates :)

I selected arbitrary dates (28.4. to 11.5.).

The most obvious and quickest flight with Bangkok Airways and BA comes out for 37600 Baht.

Thats about 700 GBP,

Less convinient two stop flights (about 18h, Emirates) come out for about 32000 Baht.

Emirates website has 601GBP from USM dep 20/4/16, rtn 4/5/16

Expedia has Etihad from 689 GBP and many more for less than 1,000 GBP from USM

Not exactly what the search engine promised but still much below 1000 GBP (54000 Baht).

From the BA website.

Of course you can setup to be charged in GBP.

My preferred setting is THB because I would pay from here.

Thanks khun Beng. BA quoted THB 133,335 for all 4 which is nowhere near as bad as the quotes seen earlier.

How do you set up to pay in sterling via a UK account?

(I'm dyslexic and may have missed it at first glance).

Also: consider to book USM - BKK and BKK - LHR separately.

Etihad offers decent one stop connection from BKK to LHR return for 25775 (abouit 16h total travel time BKK/LHR).

Easy to connect from and to USM.

Setting up for GPB?

I have to check with BA whistling.gif Be back later.

I didn't find the trick for BA.

But if you book through:

http://www.expedia.co.uk

you get an even slightly better price (for the Bangkok Air/BA flight).

I tried it to the point where personal details have to be entered.

I hope there is no hidden "payment cost" after that.

Trying Expedia.co.th gives a price of B35,320 (about GBP 642-648) for those same flights, but also shows Etihad via Abu Dhabi at B29,170, for a slightly-longer journey.

Thanks all. I wasn't able to get around the currency aspect, even when using a VPN because my journey starts in Los. I eventually paid THB 133k for 4x flights on Bkk Airways & BA via SG (outbound) & BKK (return).
