Mistaken Identity Arson attack on South Pattaya rented apartment



PATTAYA: -- Police and Pattaya Firefighters were called into action on Tuesday Afternoon to deal with a fire in a 3-storey commercial building in South Pattaya which was suspected of being started intentionally.

The Commercial Building is located in Soi 17 in South Pattaya and the fire was known to have started in a 2nd floor apartment which was unoccupied at the time. Police arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene, named as Khun Biyapan, who appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic.

Khun Chontichar aged 30 is known to rent the 2nd floor room and works in a nearby Beauty Salon. She was shocked to find the man had targeted her room and she confirmed she was unaware of any problems which may have led him to take this drastic and highly dangerous action.
