BANGKOK:-- Don Mueang International Airport's newly-opened Terminal 2 was busy only hours after the opening.

The terminal, reserved for domestic flight check-in, is opened ahead of heavy traffic during the New Year holiday period.

It is equipped with six check-in rows and 11 baggage scanners which are able to handle 1,800 bags per hour.

Four airlines are now operating at the terminal - Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, Lion Air, Thai Smile.

Terminal 1 is now only for international flight check-in. Both terminals will allow Don Mueang to accommodate 30 million passengers per annum.

Airports of Thailand which operates the airport plans to close parts of Terminal 1 for renovation. On March 8, 2016, the building will turn 102 years old.

They thought that they would let everyone know that the international airport terminal was busy, just in case people who live in a cave didn't know that, international airport terminals are busy.

I wonder when they will let us know if the major shopping malls are busy too facepalm.gif

Just to point out that Terminal 2 is the new domestic-terminal, finally opened about a year late, but apparently just-in-time for Christmas.

Err we are talking about Domestic not International...

I see only 1 person with non-black hair, so i guess the rest is all Chinese.

And?

T1 was a breeze yesterday when I took an international flight out. Big crowd gone. Hope the taxi queue will improve when I come back.

The picture seems to show a bottleneck of people trying to thread there way past and through ques. I hope these are just teething troubles.
