Pumpkin (not sure a vegetable or a fruit?)

Squash

Pretty much all dark green vegetables -- pak bung, broccoli and the borccoli-like Thai veggie (forget its name)

Carrots

Dark lettuces

Beans are also high in fiber

A daily salad made with darker lettuces (i.e. not iceberg), carrots, sprouts, tomatoes, beans is full of fiber as well as vitamins and minerals

Breakfasts of muesli made with rolled oats, yogurt and berries, or all bran cereal topped with berries, also great in terms of fiber

Thai broccoli is called kana. Dirt cheap, very versatile and high in fiber and vitamins.

Sauteed with a bit of garlic, olive oil and chili pepper it is a great side dish. Add a bit of pork for flavor and you are in heaven

Apologies Menzies233 i wasnt saying it was a troll post, just trying to make a little joke.

But as you had a near death experience in he past from abdominal pain i can see that this is no joke for you.

I've experienced as i'm sure many have similiar abnormal bowel movements as yourself and wondered where it all came from?? I'm sure your worrying over nothing, hope its just a stomach bug.

When the doctors said that you were clogged up didnt they recommend a clean out at the time?

PS If your worried about having a 10 year old pizza stuck in yer gut, next time you order ask for it to be cut into 12 pieces instead of 6 for easier digestion and bowel movements (or add extra chillies) thumbsup.gif

No need for apologies, I often am full of shit! ( The strange thing was when I was given an ultrasound during a nasty bout of Pancreatitis, the Chinese Dr. said he was unable to view a lot of my lower abdomen as it was "full of poo poo" A medical term? from a 2000 Yuan a day hospital? Maybe I need a "Wee Weë out of my Winky"

How were the ops 'movements' this morning?

Haven't heard back from the OP, hope he is ok and not full of sh**! wink.png

Sorry Boycie,

been a bit better, the Som Oh definitely moves things along. as does Papaya. Cannot stomach oatmeal and all of that fibre shit, it is revolting. Mashed potatoes seem to produce a volcanic amount if eaten at lunchtime, I am talking ropes in the length of metres, and of a vast girth.

The way I look at it at the minute is, better out than in. I don't eat red meat other than a burger maybe once every 3 months, only chicken and lean pork loin.

Not enough fibre, not enough fruit too much beer, but still alive and still partially full of shit you will be glad to know! Cheers!

I can send you some photos if you like? They are like a Burmese Python some mornings and like a tablet of stone when I drink too much!

Whilst I appreciate your reply, I would rather eat broken glass than a diet like that! I live for a piece of roast or grilled chicken, loads of potatoes, loads of peas and loads of good old salty gravy, throw in a Yorkshire pudding, maybe some stuffing and well, I am in heaven.

I can hack a bit of salad now and again, but it never fills you up, you never feel satisfied unless you get a good dose of meat protein. What does surprise me is what you say about Iceberg Lettuce!!! that is the only lettuce I like.

Also, I have been eating quite a lot of my home made pickled beetroot - but that gives you a scare in the morning too until you realise what it is that has made it look like an internal haemorrhage!

I like life as it is and adopting too many drastic changes will never work for me, I mean for instance, take David Bowie, a good life, good money, dead at 69. Take Lemmy, a good old mad life, good money, dead at 70. Cliff Richard, 150 million years old, was alive and singing when dinosaurs were fish, good money, still looks 12 years old still today....(apart from his tortoise neck hidden down by his belly button) but would you really want to be HIM? No, I cannot make the change to too many vegetables, besides the ones they sell here are probably lethal in pesticides - At least you won't get eaten by worms!

What was in the pomelo was what your normal diet lacks -- fiber. Enabling you to eliminate the feces that had accumulated due to sluggish bowel. That you have a daily movement doesn't mean everything is coming out.

Start eating more fiber on a daily basis. Oatmeal, prunes (available at every supermarket), high fiber cold cereal like Kellogs all bran, fresh fruits.

Cheers! However, I hate most fresh fruit as it is too sweet, I like Som Oh as it is like a grapefruit a bit sour - but was advised by my local quack not to eat it due to my BP medication.. All Bran.... I may as well eat some small stones or broken glass. I must admit I remember a liking for prunes (Prunes in Custard at school back in the '60's) so I will take you up on that one. Apples, disgusting mush in Thailand (The red ones) the green ones are not bad but a bit "French" like Golden Delicious, oranges...usually more stones and pith than anything else.

I like our bananas here but the drought in the north has put the spanner in the works for them this year, we just have yellow leafed stems with no fruit. Papaya is OK when it is a deep orange. Lam Yai? full of sugar no doubt. Pineapple? usually a bit too sweet for me.

What about Duran? I love those but have been told they are full of cholesterol?

Everything I like seems to be bad for me. I don't eat much fried junk like burgers, chips, crisps etc. but I do like what we Brits would call a roast dinner, main thing it usually has to have meat.

Fish here is foul, the best I have found is Tuna in brine or at worst Tab Tim, the rest is disgusting. Not a fish person really. (it usually stinks - Big C Hang Dong Fish Counter in the afternoon - smells like Cystitis!)

There is zero cholesterol in Durian or any plant product. It is high in saturated fat which may raise your internal cholesterol production.

Durian- very very high in sugar. Not a healthy fruit at all.

Pretty much all fruits are high in sugar content...that's by design. It's natures way of making animals want to eat them so their seeds are disseminated when excreted. Also provides nutrition for the seed to develop in mature fruit.

Milk of magnesia, me old sausage. Works wonders for vacating the bowels - and gives your magnesium levels a boost at the same time, good for the ticker. Available at every chemist shop.

A little birdie, the stool pigeon, told me.

Aviod sticky rice. My Thai family love it but always get bunged up after and complain, but go back for more. GF has finally quit sticky rice, she can get blocked for days after consuming it.

I don't eat it as it lays like a lump in my stomach.

Doug

Agee, like eating concrete! I hate rice in every form, just give me a potato and I am happy.
