Jingthing Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 So I reckon this makes NancyL our "Farang of the Year" Other expat places are doing similar. Meet Ecuador's GRINGO OF THE YEAR, Thomas Ives. http://www.cuencahighlife.com/straight-from-the-heart-14/ When I first saw the picture I thought it was some homeless dude!
NancyL Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 What organization named this guy for Ecuador? I see that we both share a love of neutrinos. The Canadian ones make especially soft and warm coats.
NancyL Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Pop quiz -- how many of you actually thought I had no idea what a neutrino is? Hmm -- maybe the POTY isn't over yet. Reminds me of a meeting back in a former life when some people from the Canadian gov't came to talk with some of us at our employer about using our product in a new underground neutrino counting facility. It was all very, hush, hush and the meeting was arranged at the last minute. We were ushered into the meeting the Canadians began to describe their top secret project, but since my hobby was modern physics, I was the first to realize the photos they were showing was of a neutrino counting facility. I was also the only woman in the room. I asked the questioned. Is this project a neutrino counting project and they nodded gravely. Then I squealed and stamped my feet. "Oh, Canadian neutrinos, they make the best coats" No one except my boss who had daughters younger than me got the joke. The rest looked on in horror.
