Prayut reveals he has back-up plan for poll

Looks like 'Corruption' isn't even on the priority reforms list. Maybe it's been reformed and no longer happens? The 3 month crackdown must have been successful and all is well. Problem solved.

"The 3 month crackdown must have been successful and all is well"

Kind of reminds one of all Chalerm's successful bids to correct all the country's woes in 30, 60, 90 or 180 days. Wonder where the ear medicine Minister is now?

We will probably see many more people with this patch on their west in the future:

Not to be confused with the 1% that control all the wealth in the world. Sorry my mistake this number has now dropped to 0.7%

Of course there will be elections, just like in China and North Korea. The question is who and what will be on the ballots. That's his secret.

Who is on first, What is on second and I don't know is on third. Maybe the ballot will read the same. Sure way to confuse the voters.

Whatever, the girl has more courage than i have, good luck to her,she and other students like her, are the future of a perhaps better Thailand where people like Thaksin and Prayut would be too ashamed to show themselves on the street.

By predicting the failure of the original Plan it is good that Prayut has a back-up plan and that shows he is a forward thinking man. But does he have another back-up plan if the first back-up plan also fails?

The only thing proposed by the CDC that might possibly influence a majority to vote for the new draft is reform of the police but I expect that will be axed under police pressure before the draft is finished, leaving it virtually a stone cold racing certainty that the draft won't pass.

If they don't amend the draft constitution to allow a majority of votes cast to determine the outcome, rather than a majority of eligible votes, then it may be impossible for any draft to be passed. The last referendum was passed with 57% of votes cast with 57% voter turnout. The drafters said it was their intention that it should be a majority of votes cast but that is not how the wording came out. At best a win by a majority of votes cast will be challenged in the constitutional court, if it the wording is not amended beforehand.

Funny how reform of the MILITARY, surely a much more urgent requirement for national peace, reconciliation and advancement, is never mentioned by the Junta and the Junta Lovers.

The last round of military reform after the 2006 coup reduced the power of politicians to interfere with their promotions and increased their budgets.

Tail (military) wagging the dog (nation).
