UTCC lists 10 businesses expected to perform well in 2016

BANGKOK, 4 December 2015 (NNT) - The University of Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) has revealed a list 10 of businesses expected to thrive this year.

UTCC Dean Saowanee Thairongroj said the Thai economy will be able to expand 4% this year, due to the government’s economic stimulus measures. She cited several positive factors, including export growth, consumer confidence, the public investment in basic infrastructure, and the recovery of the private sector.

The 10 businesses expected to perform well this year are beauty and health, information and technology, food and beverages, transport and logistics, cosmetics, insurance, tourism, marketing, education, and elder care products. Other businesses with positive outlooks include exercise equipment and alternative energy.

As for those expected to experience a downward trend, they include businesses involved in handicrafts, textile, farm equipment, and printing.
