BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday visited ‘Khlong Phadung Krungkasem’ floating market and opened another event to generate income for local people as well as raising social value.

The event is hosted by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to promote unity and hospitality among Thai people.

According to National News Bureau of Thailand, visitors will enjoy various shows as well as food and beverages.

The market also features musical performances by a group of people with blindness and art pieces created by persons with disabilities.

Several booths were erected to publicize the government’s anti-human trafficking efforts and a housing project for the poor in which reservations are open to eligible persons. Those interested in the newborn child funding program are able to speak with related officials at the floating market too.

A wide variety of products made by the elderly poor are also on sale. The event is taking place until January 26.
