Work permit advertisements in bkk-post

Recommended Posts

Dear All

The Bangkok Post regularly has advertisments from "law firms" offering work permits for a fee of around 10-20K Baht.  Does anyone know what exactly is being provided, i.e. a work permit to do what?  And, just how legal are they; would they stand up to official scrutiny?

Any info on experiences, good or otherwise, v.gratefully received.

T.I.A

Danny

If anyone has used them will let them answer further but it is my understanding that, at least most, do not sell anything.  The 'fee' is for handholding while you go through the hoops to obtain a real work permit for a real job.  You find the job and they help you fill out the forms.  Perhaps with extra payments they can also find the job?

They are law firms who will do the paperwork.  Most range around 10K to 20K. International lawfirms charge 30K and up

Our firms lawyer fee for a work permit is 9,500 Baht. Have not heard anyone lower.

Is it possible to get a workpermit without a lawyer? Anything is possible but the odds of getting it the right the first time, has to be very low!
