The three films in the box office seat to win a Bafta award are ‘Carol,‘directed by Todd Haynes, ‘Bridge of Spies’ directed by Steven Spielberg and ‘The Revenant’ directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Carol is based on the Patricia Highsmith novel ‘The Price of Salt’ and stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara as two women in 50’s New York whose relationship develops into more than friendship.

The Cold War drama ‘Bridge of Spies’ sees Tom Hanks play a lawyer who defends Soviet spy Rudolf Abel and then arranges an exchange for captured US pilot Gary Powers held by Moscow.

‘The Revenant’ stars Leonardo DiCaprio in a survival adventure he plays the part of Hugh Glass a frontiersman who is savagely attacked by a bear.
