PHUKET: -- Officers are hunting for 11 Rohingya who escaped from the Phang Nga Shelter for Children and Families early Friday morning.

The three women and eight children are among those who were recovered after an attempted escape in October last year (story here).

Using CCTV footage, Khao Lak Police were able to determine that the group escaped through an open window on the second floor of the shelter at about 2am.

“We are currently investigating why officers did not lock the window that night,” said Takuapa District Chief Manit Pianthong. “The group was able to walk along the balcony to the other side of the building and use a rope to climb down.”

Gives you an idea how terrible the camps are, as has been widely reported.

Even the Rohingya can't stand them - and these are people who can stand being confined to no breathing space/toilets/showers on a small crap boat with 1000 other hopeless bastards drifting aimlessly in the hot sun.

And why did they escape? Thailand has for years now treating its refugees with utter disrespect, contempt, and absolute dishonor. My guess is that the kind of treatment they were getting is not something any human being deserves. Even the typical Burmese worker, who brings so much to the table, in terms of service, and talent, is treating with disdain, and so little respect. One can just imaging how these minority groups are treated. The Thai government has a lot to learn.

maybe they learned that they would soon become voluntary kidney donors . . . and so had reason to flee . . .

Absolutely nothing to do with conditions or anything .... they had food, shelter, water, showers, medical ....

They escaped because they want to go to KT or KL.

catch them pesky Rohingya and send them back to Bangla. ! blink.png
