Questions regarding extension of stay based on retirement

Featured Replies

Hi,

Next week, I will be applying for my first extension of stay based on retirement. I have a couple of questions regarding this.

What are the requirements for obtaining a statutory declaration or statement of income from the Australian Embassy? Will copies of bank statements, pension card be necessary?

I understand I will need to show a copy of my rental agreement and owners book and ID. Is this correct? Is there also a requirement for the owner to report that a foreigner is living at the premises? If so, to whom?

Thanks for your replies in advance and a happy new year to all.

You will need nothing to do the statutory declaration at the Australian embassy other than you passport and money to pay the fee.

The copies of the owners house book and ID will need be signed by them.

Some offices may also want a TM30 form signed by the owner.

Thanks Joe. I will be doing this at Chaengwattana. Need to get this right first time.

I don't recall any reports of Chaeng Wattana wanting the TM30 form when doing a retirement extension.

My experience with renting apartments just a copy of the lease and owners I.D. card both sides and signed. I have never had to produce owners house book, reporting to Sakhon Nakhon Immigration.

Is it a requirement for the owner to notify the immigration department via the TM30? i've been living here for six months now and neither the owner nor myself are aware of this.

It is a requirement that has not always been enforced. Some offices are now enforcing it.

I have not read of Chaeng Wattana being one of those unless it is a business such as a hotel and etc.
