After a rather gloomy ride on the baht bus I decide to cut my journey short by alighting on Thepprasist Road near Jomtien Beach. To my delight the baht bus stopped outside a bar named The Dog and Duck, it seemed like a very traditional name so I was keen to imbibe a few ales. Looking up at the sign the duck appeared to be a rather belligerent mallard while the dog looked equally angry.

I ordered a beer and sat on a stool looking onto the road for a spot of people watching. One beer turned into many more and before I knew it I had to go home. The service was friendly and prompt and the bar itself was very clean. Sport was on the TV, which is always a good thing. My only complaint today is that I have the mother of all hangovers: my mouth tastes like the bottom of a gerbil cage. Been watching documentaries on badgers today, it's all I can manage.
