webfact
Anonymous Releases Court Data as Police Vow to Catch HackersBy Sasiwan MokkhasenStaff ReporterPhoto: Pierre (Rennes) / FlickrBANGKOK — Police said today they would go after the hacker collective known as Anonymous after its members took down hundreds of court websites and released sensitive data it claimed to have obtained.Following Wednesday’s massive Anonymous attack in protest of the outcome of the Koh Tao murders trial, police spokesman Dechnarong Suticharnbancha said the Technology Crime Suppression Division would track down the self-described hacktivists for prosecution. He acknowledged police still have no clue where the attacks originated from.Courts spokesman Suebpong Sripongkul said Wednesday that at least 10 IP addresses linked to the attacks from outside the country were identified.Statements posted online to accounts used by members of Anonymous indicated the attacks were part of a campaign to call attention to corruption in Thailand’s justice system after two Myanmar men were found guilty and sentenced to die for the deaths of two Britons on Koh Tao in September 2014.Full story: http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1452766720&typecate=06§ion= -- Khaosod English 2016-01-

NongKhaiKid
Of Course they'll catch them, can only be a matter of time as their efficiency is legend. Will they actually arrest them or issue summonses for Anonymous members to report to the BIB whenever they have some free time ?

Squeegee
The stupid Thai police will no doubt be scouring this forum in desperation and hoping they can snag someone in-country they can make into their habitual unfounded scapegoat. That's about as good as they can do. Thailand: way out of its depth in the 21st Century.

ezzra
I have been asking to police to help me and find the car owner address that hit my car in a parking lot and run away, that's was 2 weeks ago and nothing done, good luck with finding some guys hunching over keyboards in some dark rooms that could be anywhere in the world... Norvid 1950
The Thai police should make an announcement that DNA found on their computers matches Hacker Unanimous and soon they will make an arrest as soon as they trace it to another country. The main thing is their logic.
oztaurus
The RTP should be able to round up Khun Anonymous quite quickly - they even have his photo on this article, just a matter of cross-checking his TM6 and getting his address from that. Thailand can't even catch Thaksin who is very transparent about where he is when meeting people in neighboring countries, and these Jacques Clouseau wannabes are posturing for Thai citizens as though having IP addresses is some kind of accomplishment or has any significance at all. kinmaew
I'd be interested to know how this works here if anyone knows. 1. Thai police ID IP address overseas - Common knowledge to be able to Id the country or even the city of the IP address but not the name of the person or their address. 2. To my knowledge only the IP service provider can divulge the actual name and address of the person IF they have broken the law in the country of the IP service provider or international law (Where extradition treaty exists). Criticising Thai police is not a breach of international law or law in most countries so therefore they have no way of finding out who the hackers are. Does that sound correct or have I missed something?
