Pattaya Beach drainage system late, but nearly done

PATTAYA:--Pattaya officials missed their year-end deadline to complete a new drainage system for Pattaya Beach, but only a few loose ends remain before flood relief comes to Beach Road.

City officials inspected work remaining to be done on the 192-million-baht project Jan. 6, a week after installation of the three new drainage pipes was supposed to have been completed. What they found was the job was nearly 100 percent complete, with only placement of sewer grates and sand supplements needing to be placed.

Deputy Mayor Verawat Khakhay said road-surface improvements, leveling of footpaths and connection with sewers remained to be done near the Dusit Curve.

they are gone for the dry season but time will tell if they are back next year. disappointing that the main overflow at the start of walking st doesnt go out far enough to keep the black water off the beach but guess its an improvement
