Hi guys,

Planning on hopping back to the US in a couple weeks and wondered what was the cheapest flight destination back to us? I can book a Cathay Air ticket to LAX for just under B24k. Not too bad, just under $700US.

Originating from Phuket, but where I land is not that important, as I want to do a little traveling around the country before getting back to work.

I assume that LAX is the cheapest but sometimes there are little known destinations that cost less for whatever reasons.

Thank you for you time,

Michael

Check with the middle eastern airlines. Qatar Airways and Emirates have very low fares to USA. I personally do not like the A380 cattle car travel in Emirates, but the price is the best.

Did some random searches for an off-season schedule (10 to 25 MAY).

By theory west coast is "closest" and indeed Los Angeles is hard to beat.

"China Eastern" offers a similar price to NY and has lowest prices on other routes also.

Even Chicago comes out in the 25/26k Baht range.

My choice would be Korean Air via Seoul to LA.

Fairly "short" trip for a moderate 27k return.

There are quicker routes via Japan. Bloody expensive.

Thanks for all the info.

Next question. Can you recommend a good ticket agency in Kathu or Patong? Wanna pay cash, so cannot book online. I have heard of sites that let you book and then pay at 7-11, but not sure they are available in English.

Thanks again!
