Deputy PM affirms no IS activity in Kingdom

BANGKOK: -- The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense has affirmed that authorities have not detected any Islamic State (IS) activity in Thailand.

Deputy PM and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has addressed rumors of terrorist activity in the southern border provinces of Thailand, stating that all the news has so far been media speculation. He asserted authorities have found no evidence that IS militants are in the nation, clarifying that a criminal suspect recently arrested in the south was wanted for the shooting of a district administration official in Narathiwat.

The deputy premier also spoke of the draft constitution and its provision to have members of the National Council for Peace and Order be barred from politics for five years after the body is disbanded, stating that he does not have any intention to continue in politics regardless of the charter’s stipulation.

On whether the draft would pass referendum, the minister stated only that he believes its drafters did their best and bid all adhere to the government’s roadmap to bring about democratic polls in 2017.

Step 1 - 7 days ago the PM assured there was no IS presence here.

Step 2 - 2 days ago the PM stated they were checking on possible IS activity.

Step 3 - with only 2 days of checking the Deputy PM confirms there's no ISIS.

Step 4 - in case anything happens they're preparing a press release to the effect it wasn't terrorism. Can't have anything affect tourism.

I thought clearing the Erawan crime scene in 17 hours was fast work but writing off an international terrorist organisation in 48 hours eclipses that.

There's no coruption, scams, or crime, either.

And let's not forget : no prostitution.

Why ? because it's illegal.

No IS is hardly a surprise, as terrorists do not exist in LOS, protecting tourism matters most so the BK bombers are classified non terrorists, mafia murders on Koh Tao do not happen as Thais can not do this.

ISIS are everywhere they have gone as far as Australia with attacks, there have been no attacks in NZ however some have left NZ to fight for IS which means they are there.

If LOS thinks they are not here then think again.

Given the media release only a few days or so, I find the speed of which this enquiry has taken place amazing and now we can all sleep well at night and go about bussiness with no fear.

"Checking" means reading their memos again, in case they misread something. Nobody knows who writes or approves the memos.

They just kinda appear from any number of super hi-tech printers that have ink and everything inside them, and the memos move around places, sometimes get read, but always get filed correctly and a big bunch of colour coded folders are on display as proof of what a fine job all the 1000s of minion admin staff officer groupies are doing.

Oh, the signature?

Well, if a piece of paper arrives on your desk for your signature, then you are indeed powerful Luke. It is your duty, your privilege, you honour to sign, to keep the "something?" flowing, slippery and wet. It's OK, your boss will then sign, and his boss, and several committee chairs, so no single person is accountable, as is the only fair thing to do. Have no fear, except fear of not signing.

So yes, actually, its been checked.

Who is this guy Prawit? How are we to believe anything he says? I would consider something coming out of the mouth of Clinton or Trump to have more credibility, and that is saying alot, as neither has told the truth in a decade or more.

Prawit has demonstrated on hundreds of occasions, just like his counterpart, that he has no credibility whatsoever. There is an astonishing lack of integrity, and nothing he says can be believed. Never. Ever. Nothing.

Open your eyes and you may just detect some..., but that would be bad for tourism.

Keeping Thailand safe from IS is easily fixed and maintained, we won't issue any new entry visa when they arrive, we will thoroughly check all 90 day reports for IS and keep a close watch on all foreigners entering and leaving Thailand ..... see problem sorted, only took 2 minutes to write this all important briefing....

How can IS be operating within Thailand? Nothing bad happens here. We are looked after, with the kind benevolence of a dictator, who really cares about our well being. And why would anyone want to harm people here? (Think Erawan). What would people have against Thailand? We do not hurt anybody. (Think repatriation of the Uighurs). We protect everyone on our soil. (Think Cambodian and Burmese Fishing slaves, victims of human trafficking, and migrant workers accused and jailed for crimes they did not commit). We protect our land. (Think takeover of National Park land by corrupt officials, who are rarely or never pursued for their heinous acts, against their country and their people). We have a society of law and order. (Think incompetent and ineffective national police force). We take care of our tourists. (Think of the scams, the lack of consumer protection, the lack of traffic safety, and the lack of competency within the government).

Have not detected. Not quite same as - - is none. Thailand perfect place for ISIS with easy access via fake passports, then go onto hiding in the south.

And IS have issued a statement that no intelligence presently exists in Thailand either.

What kind of intelligence are we speaking about? There seems to be a lot of artificial intelligence here not to be confused with AI.

The nose knows. He did a Ducit poll and a Survey Monkey poll. No one ticked off the T word. We are safe.
