getting work permit on Non O dependent visa (Indian expats couple)

Featured Replies

Hi all.,

I'd really appreciate some information and guidance on my case.

My husband got a job here in 2015 and since then I have been living here in Bangkok with him on a Non O visa, which is now valid till 2017.

I have recently got a job offer from a small travel company here, but I would not like to give up my already issued 2 years visa, hence my question is whether I can get a work permit on my current visa(Non O dependent visa) or will I have to fly back home (India) and come back on a Non B visa

Thankyou in advance

Suggest you check your passport and ensure you have "visa"

You most likely have an "extension of stay !

If you wish to work the "extension of stay" will not allow you to obtain a Work Permit.

Obtaining a "B" visa from India seems to be your only option.

Normally immigration will not do an extension based with a visa or extension of stay based upon being a dependent. The big problem would bet getting the work permit application done with that type of visa or extension.
