HI

I'm strategizing my visa applicaiton as I would like to land in BKK head to Cambodia, down vietnam, take the train along the coast, then drop down to Vientiene, Laos, ultimately ending back in Bangkok. I would like to spend 2 months in BKK after the trip through cambodia, vietnam, laos. The thing is I see you need to provide inbound/departure tickets for BKK to get the visa but I'll be coming into BKK then heading out of the country. Looks like that would burn up my visa. Any recommendations? OH, I forgot to mention I'm american

Thx

Hi, Have a great trip. I don't know the answers, but I do know that your nationality/passport may matter. You might include that in the info so the experts on here can answer your questions.

Cheers.

Since you are from the US you could do your trip using 30 day visa exempt entries. You could also get a single entry tourist visa that you could use for your first entry and then get a re-entry permit before you leave that would keep the remainder of the 60 day entry from it valid for when your return.

The only problem you might have doing it visa exempt is not having a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival which could result in the airline not allowing you to board your flight from the states.

If you plan on entering the country from Laos overland there would be no need to show ticket out. You would get a 30 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at an immigration office.

With all your travel by land, i.e. train trip up Vietnam maybe you could mix in some flights.

Arrive bkk and obtain visa exempt stamp. Have a flight booked within 30 days ex thailand. Perhaps sien reap or pp. After obtaining your visa on arrival in Cambodia do your thing there. To enter Vietnam obtain your "letter of approval" online. Easy process. Do your thing in Vietnam. Lot of land travel. For last couple of months you could obtain setv in Vientiane. Personally I would fly to bkk obtain a second stamp. Book cheapest ticket out within 30 days. Tear it up. Obtain a 30 day extension on your stamp.
