webfact Posted January 24, 2016 Share Posted January 24, 2016 CDC not worried about opposition against new draft charterBANGKOK, 25 January 2016 (NNT) - The Constitution Drafting Commission is not worried about the opposition against the new draft charter.CDC member and chairman of the subcommittee on the collection of public opinions Thitipan Chuaboonchai said that after the public sees the details of the new draft charter, which will be disclosed on January 29, there will not likely be any claims about the alleged undemocratic nature of the upcoming Constitution.Mr. Thitipan is confident that the CDC will be able to explain any doubt the public may have about the new charter and convince all about its strengths and the benefits everyone will get as well as how it will help restore political, economic and social stability in the country.Regarding the review of the content of the new draft charter on Monday, the CDC will focus on the parts related to the court, he added.The CDC spokesman went on to say that the review will need a few more days before all articles are looked at while suggesting that the charter drafters have, so far, not added anything but removed some parts to be mentioned in organic laws instead.-- NNT 2016-01-25 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On the other hand they may understand that they are just playing a part in the game, and so not be worried about that either. I can't see the need for their military masters to reject it as I doubt they will release anything that hasn't been drafted for them and pre- approved from on high. And they even throw in a referendum, to keep the appearance that there actually is a choice. There really isn't. Seriously, why are so many Thais so brimming with confidence in the face of long odds? In many cultures this would be viewed as foolish bravado.
