Three Laotian hunters are expected to be sent home today from their Cambodian detention after their arrest on Saturday for illegally crossing into the Kingdom.

Thaing Vongpheng, 50, Thorng Sy, 26, and Sokun Keopasith, 26, from the Laotian province of Champasak, Khong district, were arrested on Saturday morning by Cambodian authorities after they accidentally, albeit illegally, crossed the border into Cambodia, according to border officials.

Sem Sitha, Thala Barivat district police chief, told Khmer Times that while police seized four homemade guns and bottles of ball bullets from the three men, it was determined through questioning at the district police station that their border-crossing had been unintentional, and that the men did not commit any serious crimes.
