No true Look Thep doll would be a drug mule. I suspect foreign involvement.

Well, Mr. Commissioner, superstition starts at the top, at least in Thailand.

I am glad to read that these dolls are very convenient because you don't need to get a dead fetus anymore! :)

If the elite can have puppets in government, then should be okay for lessers to pack around some dolls.

“How did our country get this far? I’m still quite confused myself. Raising a Look Thep? I don’t think I would ever catch on to the trend. It’s such madness.,” he said."

There are more serious examples of "madness" than a person carrying a doll around in public. I've never read about one of these dolls doing anything other than satisfying someone's personal choice.

Comments by public officials are a rich source of entertainment to this reader.

The Thai police chief should be more concerned in the trend of rising murders within his own police force and less about the so-called Look Thep.

To be frank, I rather would have liked to hear that a leading psychiatrist is voicing concern about local adults carrying the stupid things around.

Also, if I were the CEO of a large corporation and would notice one of my executive staff bringing one of those things into the office, I would seriously start doubting their professionalism and consider firing them, effectively proving that these dolls do NOT bestow "good luck and success".

But but, the CEO has three in his office.

Just perform cavity searches on the freaky things, sorted.

The goddess screwed up and inserted a Nigerian soul by accident.

You could probably hide a small gun in one and smuggle it into Japan

One could also hide explosives.

Start pulling them over and smashing them to look at the contents….folks will soon stop carrying them around.

Remember when everyone in America needed a "pet rock"? It was only a 6 month fad, but enough to make the creator a millionaire. Essentially, he was taking rocks that he bought for a penny and sold them for $4 each.

Yes, someone still owns the trademark...

People who "raise dolls"? Need to raise their IQ or common sense, or maybe stupidly just knows no bounds.

" How did our country get this far ? "

National Police Chief and he has to ask this question ?

This he questions but considers it perfectly normal on a Thong Lor sidewalk to ask tourists to provide a public urine sample?

sorted sordid.

Its all a ploy to add credit to the RTP. They said they would use them as drug mules & then they found one full of drugs in Chiang Mai. BTW should the dolls not be put through screening at the airport. It may be that they would get injured when they go through the Xray machine. Could be used by terrorists for more sinister things on planes if they don't screen them properly. Time to stop flying in Thailand. Oh that's right I already have.

Surely x-raying one of these dolls or even just taking its head off to find drugs is easier say than sticking your fingers up a suspected mules 'deaf and dumb'..............

Are their heads easily detachable. If not I can see that not going down very well.

Would imagine they are mostly made in China pieces of crap, that may not even need a copper to touch it for its head to fall off.

How long before a man is put in jail after being accused of sexually abusing one of these dolls. Then you can ask the question "how did our country get this far"

And I have no doubt it will happen.

It beggars belief, I know that Thais are superstitious but this is just pure raw stupidity ....

Adults behaving like children. Goofy people carrying around these dolls for luck? What is that all about? Talk about bizarre. And the authorities losing their minds over some dolls? Don't they have any real business to attend to?
