Thailand joins JCM to reduce carbon emissions

BANGKOK, 26 January 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant agencies have attended a meeting to discuss carbon emissions management, as Thailand resolves to drive economic growth while lowering greenhouse gases.

In attendance were representatives from Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization, the Japanese Embassy and other related organizations.

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Gen Surasak Kanjanarat said Thailand will be able to reduce greenhouse emissions by 20% within 14 years, or 25% with international aid. He said the government’s greenhouse gas reduction policy has been developed in response to climate change.

Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization Director Prasertsuk Chamornman said the country has also become a member of the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) high-level roundtable, which was initiated by Japan.

Japan provides technological support to 17 member-nations to help them maintain industrial productivity, while keeping carbon emissions low. Thailand has been given a fund of 422 million baht to implement the necessary measures to meet its carbon emissions reduction target.

And in other news, Article 44 used to speed up the construction of more coal fired power stations.

Confused?

And in other news, Article 44 used to speed up the construction of more coal fired power stations.

Confused?

Not confused at all. Certain people are getting a huge amount of money by simply telling a few lies.

"Thailand has been given a fund of 422 million baht to implement the necessary measures to meet its carbon emissions reduction target."

Thailand is giving a lot of lip service to reducing carbon emissions, all the while using the draconian article 44 to speed up the building of coal fired generating plants that no one, other than a very select few, want.

And the reason for reducing carbon emissions is what ?

Killing the environment by reducing CO2 that is necessary for plant growth ???

And can sombody please prove to me that a "greenhouse gas effect" actually exists ?

[scientific proof would be nice ... not just saying it is like this]

Use the 422 million baht to by new buses for Bangkok. You can then at least look them in the eye and tell them you did something major to reduce carbon levels. Those black smoke belching things have their own personal hole in the ozone layer. bah.gif
