BANGKOK: -- Thirteen passengers were injured when an interprovincial bus from Bangkok skidded off the highway and overturned in Muang district of Phrae province early on Thursday morning.

Phrae police said the incident happened at 03.00 am today near Kilometre marker 262 on the highway from Phrae to Nan.

The bus with 23 passengers on board and destination in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai skidded off the highway when it reached a curve at the time when there was rain.

The bus lost control, overturned and fell into the side the highway.

All the passengers were injured and were later admitted to Phrae hospital.

But most suffered slight injuries and were all discharged after primary treatment.

The driver was booked for questioning.

The more one sees of these shocking accidents, the more the problem points to the lack of training of the drivers..

The drivers just don't seem to care about the people in their care..

No one in government who controls these idiots gives a hoot....Amazing Thailand....coffee1.gif

"The bus lost control, overturned and fell into the side the highway."

the bus lost control?

again, a Thai bus driver was driving too fast for current conditions.

something every fifteen year kid in the USA knows when studying drivers education for your first license:

Speed Limits

"Basic Speed Law." This law means that you may never drive faster than is safe for current conditions. For example, if you are driving 45 mph in a 55 mph speed zone during a dense fog, you could be cited for driving "too fast for conditions."

Regardless of the posted speed limit, your speed should depend on:

  • The number and speed of other vehicles on the road.
  • Whether the road surface is smooth, rough, graveled, wet, dry, wide, or narrow.
  • Bicyclists or pedestrians walking on the road’s edge or crossing the street.
  • Whether it is raining, foggy, snowing, windy, or dusty.
